Listen to the Music – OLOL Spring concert

The sounds of instrumental and vocal music filled the school gymnasium on Thursday evening, May 10 for the Spring Concert at Our Lady of Lourdes School. The superb performances by students in Kindergarten thru eighth grade were directed by Ms. Monica Miller.

The theme for musical performance was:

“This Year We Learned” . . .

. . . to play together – Jazz Band – 4th Grade thru 8th Grade Bands

. . . to Use Our Voices – Kindergarten

. . . about Musical Opposities – 1st Grade

 . . . about Singing Games – 2nd Grade

. . . to Keep the Beat – 3rd Grade

. . . to Play the Recorder – 4th Grade

. . . to Sing in Harmony – 5th – 8th Grade Choirs

The instrumental performances included a variety of music including: Comet Ride, Taco Time, The Song of the Blacksmith from Second Suite in F for Military Band.

The vocal performances included some melodies that you could sing along to: Cotton Eye Joe, Doo Wah Diddy, When the Saints Go Marching In and Let it Shine.  The 7th and 8th grade choir performance of Listen to the Rain had those in attendance wondering if they would need an umbrella!

Thank you to Mrs. Sue Petersen who accompanied several of the performances.
